This is one of my original pieces. I was asked to draw a image of a gentleman's horse that i know and to draw him a Biro black and white drawing larger then A3 but smaller then A2. I went to his field field and took photos of his horse horse - Rusty. I love working in Biro and really enjoy working on a larger scale. I have been asked a few times if i use different types of Biro, no, I use WHSmiths own Biro's which i think are brilliant, they have a easy roll which makes them very easy to draw with and they give an excellent line. I am particularly proud of this piece, mainly because i got some great photographs of the horse as well as a final drawing. People may say that the way i work is old fashion, that you need to be slightly more obscure and free with your art to be modern modern (that is what some gallery's have said anyway). Some may agree, some may disagree, but i believe my work to be unique. I take my own quirky photographs from obscure angles and compositions and a draw in a rather unexplored medium.
Personally i love animals, and i love to animate animals to, they move in such interesting ways, and their bodies can create such amazing shapes. I am going to upload my animation from my foundation to my Animation Principles page. So please check it out!
Everyone should try drawing in black biro!!
